The title of this project is taken from an essay in the Extinction Rebellion handbook This Is Not A Drill, where the author shares a story of wealthy fund managers asking how they might protect their bunker empires after 'the event', an unspecified end of times occurrence that could be climate related. My collages are emotive abstractions of the bunkers they plan to flee to (and did flee to at the start of the Covid-19 pandemic, heading for their 'safe' places in New Zealand, etc.).
